It was huge. Played a country themed show from 1-4pm, followed by the Retreat All Star band who totally killed it in the pool room. People dancing on the pool table. Great to see the place soooo packed – the LoJo Festival a resounding success.

This Sunday will be my 30th show there! Kicking off at 3:30pm (back to normal time). Seeya there…

We’ll be playing LoJo Festival this Sunday. Kicking off 1:30pm at Retreat Hotel Abbotsford. Playing a few sets til 4 in ‘country stylin’. The mighty Retreat All Stars will take over from then in the Pool Room! Jamming til late.

Another special one this Sunday at the Retreat Abbotsford. We can’t say sock-puppets at this stage. But we can say we’ll be following a Big Tszyu boxing match between 3 & 4. ‘Eye of the Tiger’?

Great day yesterday at the Retreat. It was the 26th Sunday show! Seeya this Sunday. Below is a pic from a couple of weeks back. The joy of sock-puppet mastery, creating a rousing rendition of Hey Jude. Bloody hilarious.

As Sundays at the Retreat roll on, tomorrow is shaping up as a very big one. Deano’s birthday for starters, and a few other surprises (we’ve gotta keep under our hat). Max’s violin is also back in action after some much needed repair work. Got a feeling Ross (back momentarily from the UK) will be dropping by. We last jammed with him in 2019 at a pub in Sussex.

Max jumps up for a few, along with special guests throughout the show (3 sets). The unofficial 4th set after 6:30 gets pretty mayhemic. This weekend will be the 21st show!

I’m taking a break this Sunday – back again at the Retreat Hotel Abbotsford Sunday 29th and every Sunday after that. Yesterday was epic. Special surprise guest Steph brought the house down with a voice from out of this world. We never knew – how did we not know!? (jumped in on What A Wonderful World and Valerie). Max rocked out Hotel Room, Adore and Abbotsford Song. Jimmy from Sophisticated Dingo jumped in on crowd fav More Than A Woman (to rapturous applause). And of course, the irrepressible Wayno smashed out Lionel Ritchie’s All Night Long late in day. Seeya in a couple of weeks!
